Dr. Bhatia co-organized a session at Geo-Chicago 2016 honoring the career achievements of Dr. Robert Koerner. The session featured 10 speakers that presented recent publications in fields that Dr. Koerner pioneered. Featured below is a photograph are many speakers from the event with Dr. Koerner.

National Science Foundation Award
Dr. Bhatia recently received an NSF-award on “Connecting Women Faculty in Geotechnical Engineering – Thriving in a Networked World.” As part of this award, Dr. Bhatia is currently co-organizing the first Geotechnical Women Faculty (GTWF) Networked & Thriving Workshop. The purpose of the workshop is to establish motivation for and knowledge/skills to improve and sustain networking among participants. The workshop, to be held in April 2017 in Washington, D.C., will bring together more than 30 Geotechnical Women Faculty.
