In addition to coursework, Dr. Bhatia enjoys service based instruction, engaging youth in the Syracuse Middle Schools and through the WISE (Women In Science & Engineering) program on campus.

Dr. Bhatia helped to establish the WISE (Women in Science & Engineering) program on the SU campus over 15 years ago.  This organization strives to help women at Syracuse University achieve success in STEM careers. To read more about the program please view the website at : WISE .

In addition to mentoring undergraduates on campus, Dr. Bhatia reaches out to middle school students in the greater Syracuse area.  She hosts visit days and allows young students to conduct experiments with her graduate and undergraduate students in her collegiate laboratory. She hopes these experiences inspire students to seek out STEM careers.
